In a significant boost to India’s infrastructure push, the 94th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) under the PM GatiShakti initiative reviewed and advanced five major projects aimed at strengthening multimodal connectivity and regional development. Four metro rail proposals from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and a Greenfield Airport project from the Ministry of Civil Aviation were evaluated for alignment with the National Master Plan. Key metro expansions in Delhi and Noida—including new links to IGI Terminal-1, India Gate, Kalindi Kunj, and Greater Noida West—promise smoother urban transit, last-mile connectivity, and reduced congestion. Meanwhile, the proposed airport at Bundi, near Kota, is set to improve air travel access and fuel economic growth in the education hub of Rajasthan. These strategic interventions aim to transform urban mobility and regional connectivity, marking another step forward in integrated infrastructure planning.
