The Indian Army is conducting rigorous Capacity Development Demonstrations at key locations including Pokhran, Babina, Joshimath, Agra, and Gopalpur, testing a wide range of next-generation defence technologies under simulated near-combat conditions with integrated electronic warfare exercises. These trials, reviewed recently by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, feature cutting-edge platforms developed under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative such as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), UAV Launched Precision Guided Munitions (ULPGM), Runway Independent Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS), Counter-UAS solutions, Loitering Munitions, Specialised Vertical Launch (SVL) drones, Precision Multi Munition Delivery Systems, Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction Systems (IDDIS), Low Level Lightweight Radars, VSHORADS (Next Generation) IR Systems, and advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) platforms. These field demonstrations at strategic firing ranges and air defence sites are designed to accelerate indigenous capability development, enhance operational readiness, and enable rapid absorption of emerging technologies in line with the Indian Army’s “Decade of Transformation” roadmap. The active involvement of numerous domestic defence industry partners highlights the growing synergy between the Army and Indian manufacturers, reaffirming India’s commitment to self-reliance and technological superiority in defence.
