Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on May 31 to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar with a special focus on women empowerment and regional development. In Bhopal, he will take part in the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan, where he will also unveil a commemorative Rs 300 coin and postage stamp honoring the revered queen. Additionally, the National Devi Ahilyabai Award will be presented to a woman artist in recognition of excellence in tribal, folk, and traditional arts. Stepping up infrastructure ahead of the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for ghat construction works worth over Rs 860 crore along the Kshipra River in Ujjain. The ambitious project includes barrages, stop dams, and causeways to better manage river flow and enhance pilgrimage facilities. In a big leap for regional air connectivity, he will inaugurate Datia and Satna airports, unlocking new avenues for tourism, trade, education, and healthcare in the Vindhya region. The PM will also flag off passenger services on Indore Metro’s Yellow Line Super Priority Corridor, providing citizens with a fast, clean, and efficient mode of urban transport. Further reinforcing grassroots governance, the Prime Minister will release the first installment for constructing 1,271 Atal Gram Sushasan Bhawans worth over Rs 480 crore. These centers will serve as administrative hubs for gram panchayats, strengthening local governance across rural Madhya Pradesh. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to cultural legacy, women empowerment, infrastructure growth, and decentralised governance in the heart of India.
