The Government of India has officially notified the Rules under the Inter-Services Organisations (Command, Control & Discipline) Act, 2023, marking a transformative step in strengthening joint operations and synergy among the Indian Armed Forces. Coming into effect from May 27, 2025, the Rules establish a robust legal framework empowering Commanders-in-Chief and Officers-in-Command of Inter-Services Organisations (ISOs) to exercise authority over personnel from all three services under their command. This move ensures faster disciplinary proceedings, unified administrative control, and avoids procedural duplication — all while respecting the distinct service conditions of each military branch. With the full operationalization of the Act, the Armed Forces are set to witness enhanced coordination and command efficiency across the board.
