In a historic moment for Uttar Pradesh and India’s policing system, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah on June 15, 2025, handed over appointment letters to 60,244 newly recruited Civil Police Constables in a grand event held in Lucknow. Also present was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, marking the occasion as a powerful symbol of merit-based, corruption-free recruitment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the gathering, Shri Shah hailed the recruitment process as completely transparent, bribe-free, and devoid of caste or political influence, with selections made purely on merit out of 48 lakh applicants. Among the selected, over 12,000 are women, reflecting the successful implementation of reservation policies and the rising confidence of women in public service. Highlighting the transformation journey of UP Police since Yogi Adityanath assumed office in 2017, Shah said that while reforms began nationally in 2014, Uttar Pradesh only caught up after Yogi Ji took charge. Today, UP Police stands as India’s largest police force, with over 4 lakh personnel, now further strengthened by these fresh recruits, who are expected to uphold the mantra of service, security, and sensitivity.

Amit Shah underlined that modern policing infrastructure, including control rooms, mobile forensic units, PCR vehicles, and digital surveillance systems, are helping establish justice-driven governance in the state. He declared that UP, once riot-prone, is now riot-free, and urged the new recruits to continue this legacy. The Home Minister emphasized a new definition of policing—fearless for criminals, and a protector for the poor, Dalits, backward, and tribal communities. He also credited the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam for paving the way to ensure justice delivery within three years from FIR to Supreme Court verdict. Shifting focus to national development, Shri Shah noted how Prime Minister Modi’s welfare schemes have uplifted 25 crore people from poverty, provided 600 million citizens with access to gas, water, electricity, and health benefits, and expanded infrastructure with 150+ airports, metro projects, and new education reforms. He said the government’s dedication has lit a new path for Dalits, backwards, and tribals. Shah proudly spoke of the decline of Naxalism—from 11 states to just 3 districts, with a full eradication goal set by March 2026. Recalling India’s swift responses to terrorist attacks in Uri, Pulwama, and Poonch, he highlighted operations like Surgical Strike, Airstrike, and Operation Sindoor as symbols of India’s rising global stature and military precision. Further celebrating India’s achievements, Shri Shah spoke of India’s space mission success, reaching unexplored parts of the moon—named Shivshakti Point—as well as cultural restoration projects like Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, revival of Somnath Temple, and abolition of triple talaq. He praised Uttarakhand’s implementation of a Uniform Civil Code and the government’s efforts to fight corruption through strict Waqf Board regulations. Concluding, Shri Shah called on the youth to shoulder the responsibility of making Uttar Pradesh not only developed but also safe, and to contribute toward making India the world’s top nation by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Modi.
